NEW: Join your Chamblee neighbors on Facebook to talk and share about all things Backyard Chickens.

Class Details:

Come join your neighbors as we learn everything you need to know about raising backyard chickens in Chamblee. This introductory course will be taught by Keep Chamblee Beautiful volunteers and will cover:

  • Chamblee’s “urban farming” code.
  • How to get started (buying chickens, coops/cages, equipment, food, etc).
  • Important chicky things to know.
  • Walking tour of 2 urban coops and flocks in Huntley Hills.

We’ll meet at 2070 Plantation Lane in Huntley Hills. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

This Chamblee Chicks 101 course is designed for anyone thinking of getting their own backyard chickens and/or anyone just wanting to learn something new and make new friends.

The course is FREE but we encourage everyone to make a donation to Keep Chamblee Beautiful or to join our nonprofit organization. (fyi – an individual membership is only $15 – click here to join).

We are capping the course at 30 people, first come, first serve, including children (yes, children are welcomed and encouraged to attend).
